Lucy Ribchester's debut novel The Hourglass Factory is due to be released January 15, 2015 with Simon & Schuster, as part of a two-book deal.
The Hourglass Factory, a murder mystery about circuses and suffragettes set in 1912 London, centres on reporter Frankie George's investigations into the disappearance of trapeze artist Ebony Diamond, and is aimed at fans of Sarah Waters and Ripper Street. Ribchester, who's based in Edinburgh, received a New Writers Award from the Scottish Book Trust in 2013, and has also worked as an events organiser, a reporter for Al Jazeera and for the National Trust in Scotland; she's currently working as a freelance journalist, writing about dance and circus for publications such as Fest, Dance Tabs and The List.
